Current Team:
Susana M. Wadgymar, Ph.D.I am an evolutionary ecologist broadly interested in the mechanisms that facilitate or impede adaptive evolution in natural populations. My research incorporates the concepts and methodologies of population ecology, quantitative genetics, life history evolution, and conservation biology to investigate theoretical predictions in ecology and evolution. I teach introductory biology, biostatistics, evolutionary ecology, and a Plant Adaptations lab course.

Louisa Bartkovich, '22I am a current senior Biology major and Environmental Studies minor, specializing in plant evolutionary ecology. Last summer, I was the manager of the Project Flower Count, a collaborative study that explored the drivers of variation in flowering phenology in the partridge pea (Chamaecrista fasciculata). In my recent project, I established this research garden and website to blend my passion for plants and community engagement.
I am also a Bonner Scholar, primarily serving the Ada Jenkins Center and helping to found the Davidson Sunrise Movement Hub. I am thankful to have recently been awarded the George Gladstone Memorial Award at Davidson College's Convocation 2021. In the future, I hope to serve as a science advisor to local and international communities to develop sustainable and equitable conservation strategies for alleviating food insecurity and protecting biodiversity. |
